"The strangest story I ever had of finding a MacDonald book, here in the states, was when a friend (who also is a MacDonald collector) and I were traveling to a meeting and we passed a used bookstore we had never seen before. Instantly, we looked at each other and said, 'There is a MacDonald book in there.' We were obsessed in those days. We couldn't stop then because we were late for the meeting. I stopped in the store on my way back. I walked into the store and fixed my eye upon a book behind the counter, went straight to it and pulled it off, without looking at any other book and had in my hands and old leather bound edition of Robert Falconer. Sounds crazy I know, but that is just how it happened. That was 30 years ago and it sits on my shelf to this day."
