I love this story because it reminds me of the sacrificial death of our Lord Jesus Christ and the fact that Christ came to save us from our sins. It is a must-read to children to teach them about sacrificial love and how God transforms us to repent of our sins. There are many ways to introduce children to the story: beautiful illustrated editions, graphic novel adaptions, audio recordings, a musical version, and even LOL doll spin-offs. At the Back of the North Wind is one of the masterpieces of George MacDonald's fantasy literature. It is a must-read to children because of its spiritual depth and wonderfully imaginative story.
