A Rough Shaking, Blackie & Son, London, 1891
This is the first British single volume edition, following its serialization in the Atalanta magazine, 1889. MacDonald was 66 and wrote this novel in Italy. Incidentally, during this time-frame, GMD was deeply involved in the first variations of Lilith, his signature and final adult novel.

Generally sound condition, about Good, with solid binding! Beautiful ornate Victorian binding, very rare to find affordably and in decent condition. Very handsome shelf-presence! Also found in an identical binding by George Rutledge, NY, with no reference to scarcity. Rare and beautiful!
